This tutorial is written to help students and teachers who don't have time to do all the research for themselves. This current version is aimed at either high school or possibly middle school students who have some basic knowledge of HTML to start with. If you need to brush up on basic web design and HTML, visit the on-line tutorial at Maricopa College http://www.mcli.dist.maricopa.edu/tut/index.html. I recommend this site for a quick and complete course on writing HTML.
There are two goals that guided me as I developed the lessons, first to enable people to create better and more interesting web pages, and secondly, with a focus on basic computer programming skills. At the end of this tutorial, students should be fairly comfortable moving to a "real" programming language such as Java or C++. The tutorial is divided into individual lessons, with some quick review questions that score themselves, and a built-in Assignment page that you can do, or skip, depending on your goals. I hope this helps, and perhaps you can help me too. If you find some bugs or areas of improvement please send me a note at sviaene@ttsd.k12.or.us
